Oil Paint Commissions 2026

This is the pricing guide as of March 2026.

 Pricing goes by size and detail.

Commissions available in both landscape and profile orientations.

I specialize in painting natural landscapes, cityscapes, animals, and wrestling.

I charge by the square inch rounded up to the nearest multiple of 10:

Sizing Base Price (SBP)

8 x 10 : base price $80

12 x 16 : base price $200

20 x 24 : base price $480

Other sizes available upon request

Additionally, I charge for the amount of detail desired. I have 3 tiers of detail:

Tier 1 : usually just one or two painting sessions. Leans more impressionistic.

Cost – Multiply the SBP by 1.25 (8 x 10 : $100  |  12 x 16 : $250  |  20 x 24 : $600)

Examples

Tier 2 : multiple weeks to build layers and depth.

Cost – Multiply the SBP by 2 (8 x 10 : $160  |  12 x 16 : $400  |  20 x 24 : $960)

Examples

Tier 3 : multiple months to provide a large amount of detail.

Cost – Multiply the SBP by 3 (8 x 10 : $240  |  12 x 16 : $600  |  20 x 24 : $1440)
